Blog - In the Beginning

So I'm starting the new year with my first blog post.

I've loved photography practically my whole life. As you can see from this picture, I got my first camera when I was about 3 years old. Throughout most of my life it was always one of my hobbies.

In 1997 I got the opportunity to have my work shown in Bloomingdale's in New York City as part of the new Americana collection by Ralph Lauren. As you can probably guess, I was pretty excited about this.

Around the 2000's I learned that I could upload stock photos online and hopefully sell them. So I bought a point and shoot camera to test things out. I joined iStockphoto, which was exclusive to get into at the time, and started selling my photos.

Soon after I realized I needed to have people in my pictures for better sales so in 2010 I started looking for models for my stock shoots.

After shooting with a few models for my stock work, word spread around about my work and I started getting asked about shooting model building portfolios. Also, some actors started requesting headshot sessions.

So I've been honing my photography skills for quite some time.

I my future blog posts I'll talk more about my journey and what I've learned along the way. And hopefully with some helpful tips for those of you looking to have a fun and productive photo shoot.
